2D Character & Creature Rigs - October 2022

This term I was tasked with producing three 2D rigs for my Motion Design elective. I was technically supposed to do this elective last year (2021), but due to timetable clashes, it was moved to this year instead.
The first is a humanoid character that I took into Photoshop first to copy the left hand over to the right, because the original right hand didn't have the extra fingers. I also separated the ears from the head in order to rig them as well. I struggled with the lower half of the body, so I rigged it interdependently from the main body rig itself and added the options to move it into the correct positions.
The second is a quadruped character, I added extra options for any potential animator for the eyes. The secondary tail (light gray) was actually just a test layer, however I added it to the rig for any animator for if they wanted to add secondary animations like smears or a shadow of the main tail itself. This is why I also added an opacity option to disable the secondary tail if needed.
The third is a face rig, I wanted to add more options for animators, so I split the blink action so the left and right eyes can blink interdependently from one another. I also made this change to the pupils.
All artwork was provided by the Open Window Institute. All the rigs were produced in Adobe's After Effects, with slight editing of layers in Adobe's Photoshop.
